StarCAD Licensing Policy (SCALP).

The manufacturer of StarCAD software issues three kinds of licenses for the products covered by SCALP policy.

  1. General license (evaluation).
    • The license is issued for free, for evaluation purposes.
    • Customers are allowed to install and use the software on any number of personal computers. The software may be freely redistributed unless it is modified in any way.
    • Commercial use of the software is not allowed.
    • Depending on the product, there may be limitations in the functionality of the software.
    • Customers with a general license are not allowed to request technical support from the manufacturer of StarCAD software.

  2. Commercial license, single seat.
    • The license is issued according to the current commercial offer of the StarCAD software manufacturer. [ Current offer ]
    • One license allows its owner to install and use one instance of the software on a single personal computer with no time limit. The license cannot be sold to a third party.
    • The license may be owned by a person or a company.
    • Users are allowed to use the software for commercial purposes.
    • Users have access to software updates, free of charge and with no time limit.
    • Depending on the product, users may be allowed to request time limited technical support.
  3. Company license, multi seat.
    • The license is issued according to the current commercial offer of the StarCAD software manufacturer. [ Current offer ]
    • One license allows its owner to install and use the software on any number of personal computers being the property of the owner, with no time limit. The license cannot be sold to a third party.
    • The license may be owned by a person or a company.
    • Users are allowed to use the software for commercial purposes.
    • Users have access to software updates, free of charge and with no time limit.
    • Depending on the product, users may be allowed to request time limited technical support.
